Diva causing a stir……..
NAVHDA Prize II
VHDF Award Winner
Diva is the result of a mating between Zee and Moxie.
Diva is the great OwyheeStar experiment. In an effort to have a true appreciation for the client experience we retained a female from a mating between Moxie and Zee. We then raised Diva as any client would–as a family member. In addition when she reached 6 months we had her spayed.
There are quite a few benefits in this experiment.
- We are working this a spayed female the same as our clients. Therefore, our experience is with the same type of altered temperament.
- Cliff has a continual hunting companion. The Studs are too valuable to risk in many hunting situations and it seems the females are in season, coming in season, going out of season, pregnant or something when he wants to hunt. This way he has an ever-ready trained companion.
- It also allows us to companion Diva with any other Weimaraner (female or male) at any time. Sometimes this can be a great advantage.
Cliff continues to train with Diva and work towards earning more prizes, however, the greatest prize is the reward of a high caliber hunt driven companion. She is easy to live with but performs in the field. She water retrieves and searches. She is very light-footed and covers a lot of ground quickly but still gives you the Weimaraner hunting experience. She is all we at OwyheeStar hoped and dreamed of getting.
October 16, 2009 — Update on Diva
Diva continues to excel as a citizen and hunting companion. There is no doubt she was more work to train and handle than some Weims but her field potential is great. Here she is today with her first Pheasant. Click on the picture for the full story….

She is SOOO pretty! Truly looks like a little Diva…
